88Fiero front hub/bearing problems.

I have problems with my front bearings.
After some time of abuse (wide sticky race tires and hard driving through corners at the race track.) I can feel some bearing play.
The GM front hub bearing setup is not made anymore.
I cant find any more used GM hubs in Sweden.

The only new made hub/bearing setup You can buy today is the one produced by E-bearing and sold by The Fiero Store and Rodney Dickman. Some persons have had catastrophic failures with the E-bearing setup after just a couple of laps at the race trac. What seams to happens is that the axle tap brakes just inside the inner bearing resulting in that the front hub with the wheel only is hold in place by the brake disk and caliper.

When examining my 88 Formula I notice the following:

There is only vertical bearing play. Front end lifted up. One hand on top of tire and the other hand in the bottom of the tire.
If I take one hand in the front of the tire and the other in the rear end there are no bearing play at all.

If I measure with a micrometer there is 0,5mm (0,02inc) vertical "bearing play" at the rim edge (look at photos below, click on photos to se full size).

I am 100% sure that the play is in the bearing and not in the spindle ball joints.
The bearing behaves the same way when dismounted from the spindle and put in a wise but it is harder to feel the play because of no lever effect from the wheel.

If You look close at the photo below You can actually see that the outer ball bearing race is worn uneven.

" I " is front with no bearing play.
" X " is down with bearing play.

The 88 front hub/bearing looks like this inside:
